about
Professional communication for modern productions
Wolcom is an open-source intercom system designed for live productions, events, broadcast environments and technical teams that need fast, flexible communication.
Traditional intercom systems are powerful, but they are often expensive, hardware-dependent and difficult to scale. Wolcom is built to make professional production communication more accessible by running on devices people already use: computers, tablets and mobile phones.
With Wolcom, teams can create multiple communication channels, listen in to several departments, and talk only where they are needed. A lighting technician can stay connected to the lighting team while also listening to the video production channel. A producer can communicate with stage management, camera operators and audio staff without switching between separate systems.
Built for flexibility
Every production is different. Some teams work in a theatre. Others work at festivals, conferences, livestreams, sports events or corporate productions. Wolcom is designed to adapt to the workflow instead of forcing the workflow to adapt to the system.
Create channels for departments, roles, locations or temporary groups. Let users listen, talk, mute, join and switch depending on what the production needs.
Open source by design
Wolcom is developed under the MIT License. That means you are free to use it, host it yourself, modify it, build on it and adapt it to your own production environment.
Self-hosting will always be free.
In the future, Wolcom may also offer hosted servers for teams that want a managed solution without maintaining their own infrastructure.
